6/10/2023 0 Comments Hooray for fish![]() ![]() ![]() Scary fish read in a gruff voice or finger tracing the circular Round and Round fish this kept my son focused and engaged in the story which is not always an easy feat! For my son in particular, added sounds and actions made the book more interactive e.g. The author / illustrator Lucy Cousin is also the creator of the well known Maisy Mouse book series the illustrations in Hooray for fish are in the same style as Maisy with bold colours and thick line drawings.Ĭhildren will learn counting, colours, opposites and emotions from this book but in such a subtle enjoyable way that they will not even realise it is an educational book. The text is often rhyming or alliterative which helps your child to join in as the book is read to them over and over… and over again. Hooray for Fish is the story of Little Fish and his friends in the ocean, each one is described with simple adjectives to match the big bright pictures. My son’s first favourite book was Hooray for Fish a vibrantly coloured picture book with repetitive and simplistic text – the perfect first book for any pre-school animal lover! ![]()
